Saint Thomas the Apostle Youth Ministries is your home to find out about all of the programs and events we are hosting for the youth in our community! STAP Youth is involved in the lives of our youth in several ministries that all work closely together.

Life Teen is our high school program that meets Sunday nights after the 5pm Mass to share fellowship and learn about Jesus Christ and His Church. Life Teen also includes Chosen, our confirmation prep program which meets on Tuesday evening. EDGE is our once-a-month meeting for middle-school youth and a great primer for jumping into the Life Teen experience!  More Than Words is our social justice ministry which caters to all middle and high-schoolers. MTW meets once a week and covers a social justice topic over the course of a month and then, true to the name, heads out to put what was learned into action somewhere in the community.

Browse through our programs and see what would be a good fit for you and go check out our blog page for all the newest and upcoming events!  For any questions contact our Youth Ministry Director, Deacon Ed Sheffer or Associate Youth Minister, Eric Huelsman.

We are committed to lead people to Christ; always remembering at the center of our life is the Word of God and the Eucharist. We strive to be the Body of Christ by intentionally fulfilling our personal call to discipleship, reflecting the love of Christ in the world.

St. Thomas the Apostle’s youth ministry exists to make Jesus more available, in order that teens, families, and the entire parish community can be drawn more into relationship with Him.

Our 2017-2018 GOAL

Provide opportunities for families to evangelize about their relationship with Christ and explain the Catholic faith and how these help us to become our better self.

Life Teen : High School Youth Ministry

As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads high-school teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church. Grades 9-12.

CHOSEN : High School Confirmation Prep

Chosen offers a powerful approach to teen faith formation that will both catechize and challenge teens to fully embrace a life in Christ. This program will prepare teenagers for reception of the final Rite of Initiation in our Church, Confirmation. Available for grades 9-12.

MORE THAN WORDS : Teen Social Justice Ministry

More Than Words is a social justice and community service group. Our mission is to grow together, in community, as women and men for others through a process of action and reflection. We are dedicated to making Tucson a better place through discussions of complex issues and real-world application by sending our teens out into the Tucson community, and beyond, to demonstrate that following God’s teachings involves more than just reading words. Grades 6-12.

EDGE is a fun, safe place for middle-schoolers to spend time with their Catholic friends.  During EDGE, the middle-schoolers get answers to their unanswered questions about their Catholic faith, have the opportunity to experience Jesus Christ in a profound, personal way, and feel like they are important to everyone else in the parish. Grades 6-8.
